E&P Business Related HSE Initiatives
Gujarat Energy Limited is fully committed to Health, Safety, & Environment goals which is reflected in the HSE functions and systems that have been imbedded in our E&P Business. Summary of HSE Initiatives undertaken in respect of our E&P Business is given below:
- Mines Vocational training is imparted on a regular basis to all our technical personnel deployed at various E&P Sites so as to keep them ready to deal with any workplace hazards.
- First Aid & basic firefighting training is also provided to all our technical personnel deployed at various E&P Sites.
- Awareness program is conducted on regular basis regarding Near Miss Reporting, Permit to Work, Personal Protective Equipment, use of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), Emergency Preparedness etc.
- Conducting various internal mock drills in-house as regular training exercises to evaluate emergency preparedness, test safety equipment, and train personnel under simulated, high-risk scenarios.
- Conducting fire mock drill by fire tender with local body (Municipal corporation) to prepare personnel for rapid response and mitigate the risks of catastrophic fires.
- Imparting safety & environmental awareness program during National Safety Day and World Environment Day.
- Review & update the unit-level risk register & Emergency Response Plan regularly providing insights into key risks and barriers.
- Gap analysis is carried out regularly for upgrading Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) due to updating in the technology, guidelines of Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) and addition of new work/contracts.
- Internal Safety Audit and External Audit (DGMS & OISD) is being conducted at regular intervals and recommendations are complied with in a timely manner to improve safety.
